European MedTech Week 2016: what it’s all about
Posted on 04.05.2016
European MedTech Week will take place for the second year, from 13-17 June 2016. The aim of the Week is to bring all health stakeholders together, including patients, doctors and carers, as well as those behind many of Europe’s medical technology innovations, and outline their perspectives on how devices and diagnostic tests are shaping our lives, our health and our future.
With 5 weeks to go before the 2016 edition of MedTech Week is officially launched, events are already being planned. Examples of confirmed activities happening across Europe include:
Cardiac care in GERMANY: A discussion in the University of Frankfurt with local German MP Katja Leikert and medtech manufacturer St. Jude Medical, on how ‘telemonitoring’ can be an effective tool to reduce cardiac events in patients with heart failure,
Digital health in SWEDEN and BELGIUM: The latest advancements in the digitalisation of healthcare will be discussed with researchers, medical experts and the medtech industry;
Tour of manufacturing site in ITALY: Medtech company Smith Medical will open its doors to key stakeholders and show the value of the products they create.
