EUDAMED foreseen to be launched in May 2022

The European Commission announced that the launch of the EUDAMED database is foreseen in May 2022 instead of in March 2020.

The DG GROW also mentioned that the database is going to be released when the entire system achieves its full functionality. This means that all essential functionalities for all modules as required by the MDR and IVDR should be developed and audited at once before its release.

The date of application of the MDR is not affected, and it remains 26 May 2020.
